Daruma dolls (Dharma dolls) are traditional, hollow, roundish red dolls modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism. They are considered as talismans of good luck. When one wants to accomplish a goal, they paint one of the doll's eyes, and once their goal is achieved, they fill in the second eye.
