The appeal of cycling around the Tama area
Borrow a bicycle from the hotel where you are staying, and go cycling. You will be able to see another side of “Tokyo”!
The “Tama area” is a suburban area that spreads out to the western part of the gigantic city of Tokyo (Total population : 13 million), with a population of four million. There are many natural parks, museums, historic temples and shrines, etc. in this area, which are great sites for tourists.
The main railroads, such as the JR Chuō Line, the Keiō Line, and the Seibu Shinjuku Line, radiate from the center of Tokyo to the residential area on a east-west direction, but have few railways connecting north-south. You will have to rely on buses and taxis to visit the tourist spots located in the north and south of Tama, so we recommend and assist sightseeing by bicycle.
◎The Tama area, especially the area called “Musashino," which consists of Chōfu City, Mitaka City, Musashino City, Koganei City, Kokubunji City and Fuchū City, is an area with gentle rolling hills that can be easily traversed by bicycle.
◎Compared to Tokyo’s 23 wards, there is less traffic in Tama and the roads are rich in nature and scenery - extremely suitable for cycling.
◎There are more than fifty spots for sightseeing, and you will be able to get around from one spot to the next in a short amount of time.
In our “Enjoy Cycling” navigation service, we offer multiple safe and comfortable cycling tours in the Musashino area. So, why don’t you come and try them?
